ALUMIL as gold sponsor of the MVRDV lecture at DOMa Lectures

With unwavering commitment to supporting the architectural community and fostering dialogue around the sector’s contemporary challenges, ALUMIL participated as gold sponsor in the lecture by MVRDV, held at the Athens Conservatoire, as part of the 8th DOMa Lectures, in front of a full audience.

Thessaloniki in the spotlight
Bertrand Schippan, representing the renowned Dutch firm, presented MVRDV’s philosophy and body of work under the title “Resilient Future(s)”, focusing on the role of architecture as a catalyst for sustainable change. Special emphasis was placed on the city of Thessaloniki, used as a case study for the future challenge of rising sea levels, highlighting the studio’s strategic thinking in response to global environmental transformations.

Mr. Schippan proposed a four-pillar plan:

  1. Increasing urban greenery.
  2. Embracing the new reality where the aquatic world flows directly into the mainland.
  3. Promoting more compact and efficient urban interventions, with emphasis on green rooftops atop apartment buildings.
  4. A strong commitment to carbon neutrality.

The event opened with a presentation of ALUMIL’s fire-resistant aluminium systems by Architectural Consultant Michalis Mousmoulis, showcasing the technological superiority and certified performance of our solutions, which meet the most stringent fire protection standards.

Our participation in this important event is part of ALUMIL’s broader strategy to maintain a continuous and meaningful connection with architectural thinking and practice, with the aim of shaping a sustainable built environment. We actively support initiatives that inspire, propose solutions and bring the world of innovation closer to architectural reality.
