Loop

The future of architecture with certified recycled aluminium
Our production process is based on the principles of the circular economy and the reuse of aluminium, through which the innovative Loop 60 and Loop 80 are produced.

ALUMIL’s sustainability cycle

Loop is the result of our commitment to the responsible management of natural resources. Through the state-of-the-art aluminium scrap sorting and processing unit at our facilities in the Kilkis Industrial Area, we produce aluminium architectural profiles with high recycled content, reducing the environmental footprint of our products.

Loop 60
Loop 80

The first certified recycled aluminium in Greece

Loop 60 is a milestone in the Greek aluminium industry, as it is the first certified recycled aluminium for architectural systems in the country. It is produced with 60% recycled aluminium and contributes to energy savings and CO2 emission reductions. Specifically, the use of Loop 60 leads to a reduction of carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 76%.

Innovation in aluminium recycling

Taking a step further, we developed Loop 80, which consists of 80% recycled material. This advancement reinforces our commitment to sustainable development and offers our customers products with an even lower environmental footprint. With Loop 80, we achieve 87% fewer CO2 emissions compared to the average primary aluminium production in Europe.

Benefits For The Architects

The use of Loop recycled aluminium in architectural projects offers

Contribution to sustainability certifications

Our products support certifications such as LEED and BREEAM, adding value to projects.

Reduced environmental footprint

The high recycled content reduces CO₂ emissions and energy consumption.

High quality and durability

We maintain the high standards of quality and durability that characterize ALUMIL products.

The Engineering Behind Loop

Through our state-of-the-art aluminium scrap sorting and processing unit at our facilities in the Kilkis Industrial Area, an investment of €4.6 million.

Environmental Benefits

Here is a representative example that highlights the significant reduction in CO2 emissions per kilogram of aluminium when choosing windows made from Loop 80 instead of primary (virgin) aluminium.

A typical 7-storey building features around 70 windows (10 per floor). With an average aluminium weight of 12.3 kg per window, this translates to:

Total aluminium quantity: 861 kg of aluminium

MaterialKg CO2 per kg AlTotal CO2 (kg)
Primary Aluminium8.67.405
Loop 802.071.782
Savings: 5.622 kg CO2

In Practice

Using Loop 80 instead of primary aluminium saves 5.622 kg of CO₂, an amount equivalent to 46.462 km of driving with a conventional car (based on an average of 121 g CO2/km)
