Loop 80: Pioneering Aluminium Recycling

We are delighted to announce the official launch of Loop 80, a groundbreaking innovation as one of the world’s few certified recycled aluminium options for architectural systems. Composed of 80% recycled material, Loop 80 represents a major leap forward in our commitment to sustainability and cutting-edge technology.

A Significant Advancement from Loop 60

The introduction of Loop 80 sets a new benchmark in the architectural systems industry, both domestically and globally. This follows the successful launch of Loop 60 in 2023, which was the first certified recycled aluminium with 60% recycled content. Building on this foundation, we surpassed our initial targets by closing 2023 with 67% recycled aluminium, earning certification from TÜV AUSTRIA, a leading global certification body.

Our progress didn’t stop there. We have achieved an impressive 80% recycled content, in large quantities, which can be made available to high-specification projects seeking international sustainability certifications like LEED and BREEAM.

Practical Impact on Sustainability and Environmental Responsibility

The transition from 60% to 80% recycled content translates into significant environmental benefits. This upgrade results in an 87% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to the carbon footprint of primary aluminium production. By reusing existing aluminium and reducing the need for bauxite mining, we are contributing to substantial energy and raw material savings.

Our commitment to sustainability is not just a corporate value but a practical approach to reducing our carbon footprint and environmental impact.

Driving Innovation through the Circular Economy

In addition to our recycling advancements, we are proud to be one of 19 partners in the pioneering REcAL(REcycling technologies for circular aluminium) project. Funded by €10.6 million under the Horizon Europe programme, this initiative aims to revolutionise aluminium recycling across Europe. Our selection as a key partner highlights our dedication to sustainable development and the circular economy, with the successful launch of Loop 60 in 2023 playing a pivotal role.

Moreover, we are honoured to be the first Greek company in the architectural aluminium sector to receive the Cradle to Cradle Certified® (C2C) Silver certification for a broad range of products, affirming our positive impact on people and the planet.

As environmental challenges continue to grow, we remain dedicated to advancing the circular economy, conserving energy, and protecting the environment. We believe green initiatives like Loop 80 are essential to enhancing our quality of life and creating a sustainable future.
