The global hotel chain “Nobu" in the center of London chooses ALUMIL

Nobu Hospitality, the globally established lifestyle brand founded by the famous Hollywood actor Robert De Niro, the world renowned Chef Nobu Matsuhisa, and the well-known film producer Meir Teper, is expanding with a new hotel unit in London. Nobu Hotels combine elegance and minimal Japanese tradition into the concept of a lifestyle hotel with exquisite cuisine, innovation and creativity. Characterized by their exceptional design and impressive spaces, Nobu Hotels provide remarkable hospitality and unique experiences.

Located right in the heart of London’s West End, Nobu Hotel London Portman Square, is expected to open in spring 2020 and will feature 239 guest rooms and suites, together with a Nobu restaurant, ballroom and meeting space, beautifully conceptualized by London-based architecture and interior design firm, David Collins Studio, in cooperation with Make Architects. Nobu Hotel is set in Portman Square W1, steps away from Marylebone’s independent boutiques, next to the world’s most prestigious shopping district of Oxford Street and Regent Street, and on the edge of Mayfair’s vibrant restaurants and bars, and Soho’s world-famous theatres.

The demanding specifications of the project required excellent architectural systems to protect the interior space against any weather condition while offering rich daylight intake and of course functionality along with outstanding design in line with the hotel’s concept. For that purpose, ALUMIL’s successful hinged series SUPREME S77 was chosen, an advanced thermally insulated casement window system that combines perfectly exceptional design with sturdiness and top performance in air and water tightness. Being ready to hold glazing up to 74 mm, S77 assures excellent thermal performance as well as sound insulation. In addition, the advanced lift & slide system SMARTIA S560 for multiple purposes (available also in simple sliding version) was selected to be installed in larger openings so as to assure rich natural light and ease of use, along with excellent performance.

ALUMIL’s experience in hotel projects counts 30 years, with thousands of projects worldwide in all continents. Good accommodation starts with a good sleep and a good sleep starts with exceptional thermal and sound insulation, a field in which ALUMIL’s architectural systems exceed expectations, thanks to its advanced testing center being in close cooperation with the renowned German institute ift Rosenheim.
