Lap Pool House
Situation
Tinos island is characterized by strong stone elements and sloping ground. The earthly colors, in combination with the Cycladic atmosphere, create a spectacular setting for every visitor. Lap Pool House, a project created by Aristides Dallas Architects, summarizes all the identity features of the island, by incorporating them into its design.
Solution
The simplicity of Tinos is visible on the Lap Pool House lines as the construction takes inspiration from the rocky external environment. Looking the residence from afar, it seems that it is integrated into the natural landscape, leaving the mark of architect’s vision. Three large cement blocks are connected with the roof that is consisted of visible reinforced concrete, while the linear swimming pool structure catches the attention and extends the building’s invisible line to the sea, alterating terrestrial and aquatic in an imaginary way.
Lap Pool House harmoniously incorporates land, air and cement and reminds us about the value of constructive simplicity that meets natural environment.
