Stock market index ESG: ALUMIL among the 35 listed companies that meet the criteria of sustainable development
On 2nd August 2021, the new sustainability index of the Athens Stock Exchange came into force. This is the Athex ESG, which will monitor the performance of companies regarding the environment, social activities and corporate governance.
ALUMIL is among the first 35 companies in Greece that meet the criteria for inclusion to Athex ESG. The first evaluation of the companies took into account their published data for the year 2019. These data were analyzed extensively by the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (EKPA) and were evaluated for their accuracy.
According to recent assessments, between 2023 and 2025, it is estimated that 50% of mutual funds will have ESG criteria. This prediction proves both the dynamics of the index and the global shift towards environmental and corporate responsibility issues. ALUMIL, as a leading company in the aluminum industry, has developed environmentally friendly production facilities and modernized its corporate governance, while leading the way with social responsibility actions that prioritize the improvement of people’s daily life.
The ESG index is an important opportunity to manifest the multifaceted activities of ALUMIL Group, providing essential information to the investors about the company’s strategic approach.
