The Ellinikon Experience Centre: ALUMIL’s systems in the new landmark
Experience Centre is where the heart of Ellinikon beats at the moment.
The urban redevelopment in Ellinikon is the most anticipated project in the country and one of the most significant ongoing projects in Europe. The Ellinikon Experience Centre is now open to the public and has impressed its visitors from day one.
The Experience Centre is located inside the Experience Park, specifically in Hangar C – belonging to the Air Force. The metal structure of the hangar has been restored and allows visitors to enjoy it. Inside this spectacular building, everyone can learn about the past of the Ellinikon area, take a virtual tour of the park and coastal side and see in an interactive way what the future of this ambitious regeneration project will be.
ALUMIL participated in the project with the high-energy efficiency curtain wall system SMARTIA M7. Especially for this project, special aluminium connectors between post and transom were designed and analyzed to allow a 700kg glazing panel load (glazing dimensions 2.4 x 3.65), using the finite element method.
Τhe state-of-the-art curtain wall system by ALUMIL was selected for the spectacular Experience Centre of Ellinikon and contributed to the successful launch of its operations. The system offers high levels of static robustness, security, sound insulation and functionality to the construction.
