ALUMIL Green Ambassadors: The Volunteer Team of our Employees

The employees of ALUMIL care for the environment and they take initiatives in order to protect and promote it.

Green Ambassadors is the “selected” employee volunteer team of ALUMIL, having as mission the protection of the environment and the awareness on sustainable development and behaviour issues. The team’s plan of action includes employee awareness campaigns, working environment upgrading aiming at a lower energy footprint, improvement activities in areas of the urban fabric, as well as seminars in collaboration with scientists or institutions of the ecology field.

Highlights of our Green Actions

13.000 litres of waste and recyclable

The team participated in cleaning actions in Epanomi and Doirani and collected 13.000 litres of waste and recyclable materials.

80% increase of team members

Since the forming of the team in 2020, the number of employees who became members increased by 80%.

480 saplings were planted

They participated in the Greek Eco Project action in Triadi Thessaloniki, in which 480 saplings were planted.

Our Actions

Afforestation

ALUMIL Green Ambassadors could not be absent from initiatives that aim to protect and support our forests. The team participates in afforestation actions, seeking to inform people on issues regarding the forestlands of our country and the promotion of the crucial role their preservation plays for the life of all of us.

Green actions on our facilities

The adoption of sustainable and ecologically friendly practices from the people of the company is one of the main goals of Green Ambassadors.

The team takes over awareness campaigns and changes its old habits (e.g., ban of plastic cups), thus drastically reducing the energy footprint in the facilities of the company.

Keeping the natural environment clean

The team takes over or participates in cleaning actions in areas where extensive waste disposal takes place. A key concern is to maintain a clean natural environment as well as to motivate our fellow citizens to act against practices that cause natural disasters.

Green Ambassadors members participate in cleaning actions, but still, they are open to everyone who wishes to contribute by being present.

Informing employees on green issues

One of the main team goals is to motivate as many ALUMIL employees as possible to adopt more sustainable practices in their daily life. Through campaigns, seminars and activities, Green Ambassadors sharpen their colleagues’ knowledge and encourage them to become “greener” in their daily life.
