4.6M € Investment for the production of “green” aluminium
We created new aluminium scrap separating and processing unit in our facilities in Kilkis, for the production of “green” aluminium.Our Actions
We invest in renewable energy sources
In 2021, we installed 218 solar panels of a total power of 50kw in our offices in Efkarpia, Thessaloniki. This type of energy helps us reduce our carbon footprint (CO2) by approximately 35 tons per year.
In addition, from 2014, we have installed a solar power plant in the company’s foundry in Kilkis, saving 747 tons of carbon dioxide emissions.
Circular economy and energy conservation
For more than a decade, we have taken actions that not only promote recycling (of raw material, water etc.) in our production process but also significantly contribute to the energy conservation as well as to the consolidation of a sustainable model, based on the sustainability principles.
The key goal of all these actions is to reduce energy consumption and produce “green” aluminium, which we are already achieving.

“BRAVO Awards”: ALUMIL receives award for its corporate governance
In ALUMIL, the pursuit of excellence is not just about perfection in construction, but it affects every aspect of the corporate activity, whether it has to do with internal operations or with external collaborations.
In this sense, ALUMIL participated recently in “BRAVO Sustainability Dialogues & Awards 2021”. This institution is a platform for dialogue with the aim to point out the organizations that support a more sustainable future. Through its participation, ALUMIL showcased some of its most important corporate activities. The award eventually came for the «Employee Relations Discussions» initiative. This initiative that brought the award to ALUMIL is included in the “Governance” section. More specifically, this honor was about the job satisfaction survey that the company conducts every year, in order to improve its working environment. Through this annual dialogue the relationship between employees and upper management is getting stronger, while points for improvement are identified. More importantly, this is a chance for the company’s people to be heard, to express their opinions and share their own experience regarding their working environment.
“BRAVO Sustainability Dialogues & Awards” constitute a multi-stakeholder forum - institution that aims to award the businesses and organizations which make all the steps towards a modern and healthy working environment. ALUMIL welcomes the awards, as this honor inspires the company to continue its actions based on the values of Sustainability.
