EL Residence
El Residence, a distinctive two-storey house in Lakatamia, embodies a harmonious blend of design and functionality. The primary objective of DIAS Architects was to connect the interior with the exterior courtyard space by strategically orienting openings towards the south. The continuity of materials, extending from the interior floor to the exterior, fosters a visual integration of spaces, creating a cohesive living experience. On the northern side, a protective grey volume shields the residence from diverse natural elements, serving both as a functional element and an architectural statement. This volume strategically incorporates openings on other sides, facilitating the infusion of natural light into the interior spaces. Vertical shades are strategically employed to regulate the natural lighting, offering a controlled and adaptive ambience within the house. El Residence is a testament to thoughtful design, emphasising the interplay between indoor and outdoor realms for an enriched living environment.
