Bioclimatic school at Kozani
Situation
The innovative bio-climatic school at the Active City Planning Zone of Kozani, where the 19th Elementary School and Kindergarten of Kozani are housed, is a project that highlights the sustainable character of the area. Innovative technologies implemented in an area of 4,200 square meters, through funding from NSRF Macedonia / Thrace 2007-2013, have contributed to a steady improvement in the energy performance of the building complex. The design of the building was based on the principles of bioclimatic architecture, adopting a multitude of "green" features to minimize building energy consumption.
Challenge
The complete Tilt & Turn system SMARTIA M11500 provided high thermal insulation. In addition, the energy "fortification" of the building was increased thanks to the adjustment of the advanced sun shading system SMARTIA M5600, which incorporates stylish louvers with elliptical design. The choice of ALUMIL's energy systems was not a coincidence, as thermal insulation and controlled daylight intake are essential elements in order to ensure high energy adequacy through the use of renewable energy resources.
