Challenge

The construction of an apartment hotel in the heart of Athens, was a big challenge with two issues that had to be addressed: the integration of the new building in the urban environment of the downtown environment and the assurance of high quality services for those who will stay in it.

Solution

Stay Homm is located in Monastiraki, Athens, a busy and touristic area in the center of the capital. Its apartments were the result of a major renovation in 2019, which aimed to transform an old industrial building into a modern boutique hotel with rental apartments.

TAF architectural firm, which was responsible for the design, emphasized the simple clean lines, the comfortable and functional spaces, the plasticity and the abundant natural lighting. White was chosen as the main color and appears in a variety of different materials and textures, uniquely underlining the minimal approach that was followed in the project.

The 15 apartments impress the visitor with the sense of harmony and relaxation they offer. In this, the exceptional layout plays a key role, as well as the thermally insulated aluminium systems, which ideally complement the result, providing robustness and thermal comfort. The wonderful view of Lycabettus and the Acropolis on the 6th floor of the building, enhances the experience of the visitor, giving him/her a special chance to have a panoramic view of this magnificent historic area.
