Shell

A detached house defined by comfort and functionality. The design of Shell combines the straight, clean lines of a modern, minimal approach with the earthy element of stone.

Responsible for the architectural design of this residence in Volos is the Architectural studio 149: Dimitris Philippitzis & Associates. As the firm characteristically states, the Shell residence consists of “simple volumes with timeless features. The amount of natural light and air that passes through the building is a function of both its orientation and its proper placement on the plot. Quite sizeable openings help to visually connect the interior with the exterior spaces of the residence.”

The interior spaces aesthetically follow the exterior of the residence, with modern lines and parts where wood, stone, and glass coexist, creating a harmonious result. The advanced aluminium systems enhance the building’s energy efficiency and blend perfectly with the overall construction. Lastly, an important part of the building is the specially designed double parking spot - organically connected to the rest of the house - where the distinctive design language of the Shell residence is also reflected.
