Nikola Tesla Elementary School

The Nikola Tesla school complex in Novi Banovci, Serbia, is a distinctive example of contemporary architecture, bearing the signature of Studio A&D Architects.

The project essentially consists of two renovated buildings - the existing school unit and the sports center - which were unified through the addition of a new, third school building. It is worth noting that the location of the complex plays a key role, as the school is situated in close proximity to the local church. Together, they form a shared point of reference and gathering for the community of Novi Banovci.

The school’s facilities are characterized by simple, clean lines that enhance functionality, while the minimal aluminium systems lend a distinct architectural identity to the project and contribute significantly to the maximization of natural light in the interior spaces. Lastly, the atrium plays a cohesive role in the interior, creating yet another meeting point within the building.
