Mountain Refuge
In the heart of the Apuseni Mountains, an ambitious project took shape: the construction of a modern mountain refuge for all nature enthusiasts. A place of safety and peace, created to protect those who explore the beauty of the mountains, regardless of the weather. The architect responsible for the design of this project is Anca Loghin.
While the mountain environment captivates with its spectacular landscapes, it can also expose visitors to extreme weather conditions. Therefore, building a refuge there means finding the perfect balance between robustness, simplicity, protection, and connection with nature. The aim was to create a bright, durable, and well-insulated space capable of withstanding the test of time and climate.
It is worth noting that the final outcome was strongly influenced by advanced, thermally insulated aluminium systems for windows, entrance doors, and curtain walls. By combining these systems, large, glazed surfaces were created, allowing natural light to flood the interior while offering hikers a magnificent view of the mountainous landscape and providing a complete living experience.
