How to have a warm house in winter

Make winter summer and enjoy a warm house all year round!
Winter is a period characterised by low temperatures, humidity, winds, rain or snowfall. It is thus a particularly demanding time for our home and the way it reacts to these conditions.
A central role is of course held by our window and door frames (as this is where we usually have significant losses), but also the general layout of the interior. So how can one have a warm house in winter and increase the temperature inside the house?

Do not block the heating sources
In many homes there is a tendency to place household furniture in front of heat sources. It is for example likely that you have your sofas right in front of radiators. This tactic can help to make it feel warm while you stay in this spot. However, it works to the detriment of the overall performance of the radiators. This is because sofas absorb heat and do not allow it to diffuse freely throughout your room. Placing your furniture in a way that does not block the heat sources is crucial to the heat flow in your space.

Position your plants intelligently
If you have houseplants and they are placed near your windows, it would be a good idea to move them during the winter months.
Plants, when placed next to windows or balcony doors, intensify the humidity.
So place your pots away from window openings and you will see a difference.

Open your curtains
During the winter, the sun appears less frequently. It is therefore particularly important to make the most of it. During sunny hours, be sure to open your curtains so that the room can absorb the sunlight. When it starts to get dark, draw the curtains again, essentially using them as another layer of insulation. This helps your space to retain heat inside.

Use carpets
The floors of our house are the first place where we feel the cold as we walk. The use of carpets in the rooms or living room helps to keep your feet warm and at the same time "insulates" the floor in a way.
This gives you another level of defence against low temperatures. A house with fewer "bare" spots on the floor maintains a clear advantage in feeling warm inside. Unless your home has underfloor heating, in which case you are already covered.

Upgrading of specific sites
For many, the total replacement of the house's frames is a significant financial expense. But there is another solution that could significantly improve the conditions of your home at a lower cost. You can therefore replace not all, but some of your frames, depending on the areas you wish to upgrade energy efficiency. You need to assess which rooms you spend more time in or which parts of the house are most affected (e.g. rooms with an outside wall or rooms without heating).
Also, if you have children, check the condition of their rooms. The smart choice of specific rooms for the replacement of frames will allow you to "fortify" important parts of your home without spending a large amount of money. Here are some ideas advanced aluminium frames.

Replacement of old frames
If your frames are old or badly damaged, then replacing them can have great results. Depending on the location of the house, you should evaluate your options, based on the energy efficiency of the frame system you choose, its thermal insulation performance, as well as the type of glass and the corresponding features that accompany it. A high performance system is sure to radically change the way you feel in your home in winter.

Don't wait any longer. Thermal comfort is everyone's right!
To enjoy a warm home in winter, a series of actions are necessary, each playing a crucial role in the process. It all starts with the quality of our frames and the type of heating.
However, they also extend to our other "small" but important choices that can have a positive impact. Whatever approach you take, don't forget that a cold home reduces the quality of living. This can in fact be dangerous to the health of those who live in it. Try experimenting with different ways and you're sure to find what works for you.
