4 impressive detached houses in Greece with ALUMIL sliding frames

Sliding frames are a smart choice for every home. Two of their main features are the coverage of large openings and the space-saving they offer. At the same time, the highly aesthetic, modern sliding aluminium frames align with the trend of modern, transparent architecture. Below, we present four modern detached houses in Greece that have been equipped with advanced sliding frames by ALUMIL. Read on and... feel free to be inspired!

Secret Garden House
At the southeastern end of Paros, there is a modern residence, designed giving priority to a smooth integration into the natural environment. The Secret Garden House, a project of the architectural office Scape Architecture, impresses with its simple and smart design, which gives the feeling of a modern cave. Almost half of the building is embedded into the hill, while the part that is on hillside is covered by a rectangular shading trellis.

The Four Walls
Perched at the foothills of Mount Hymettus, this impressive house immediately attracts the attention of all those who pass in front of it. The original idea of the architect, Nikolas Frantzeskos, was the deconstruction of the classic rectangular square, with the four walls defining the living space and enclosing its uses and functions.
The residence is developed on five levels which maintain the sense of unity. The insulating, sliding frames used in the project, serve the design philosophy to the fullest and offer minimal aesthetics (i.e. minimal visible aluminium) and high energy efficiency. In addition, the possibility provided by these aluminium frame systems for corner constructions, enhances the sense of freedom, as well as the unobstructed connection with the outside space.

Villa Agapanthus
On a green hill, on the eastern side of Lefkada, the Villa Agapanthus holiday home stands out with its design. The house, the creation of Revergo Architecture, spreads over 200 sq.m. and is organized in 3 levels. The living areas (kitchen, living room and one bedroom) are located on the ground floor, with the remaining two bedrooms on the first floor. In the basement there is a fitness and wellness area.
Both outdoors and indoors, the white colour of the walls "blends" with materials such as wood, bamboo, reed and wicker. The large openings with lift and slide aluminium frames of high functionality, favour the integration with the external environment, while allowing unobstructed views of the endless blue of the Ionian Sea.

Hug House
Hug House is built on the outskirts of Kos town. The house is developed in such a way that it creates an inner courtyard in the form of a peculiar "embrace". It is worth noting that the day living zone and the sleeping zone in the main house are distinct volumes not only spatially but also functionally. The large sliding and lift & slide windows that are developed in the common areas of the Hug House enable those who live there to maintain constant visual contact with the courtyard and the pool and ideally integrate the exterior space with the interior of the residence. In addition, the earthy colours of the frames harmonise naturally with both the interior and exterior environment. The architects of Mastrominas Architecture who undertook the project, placed particular emphasis on the green element. Thus, both the existing cypress tree row and the citrus orchard were enhanced, while oleanders, olives, mulberries and aromatic plants complete the final result.
